The new story is out. We’re trying one of Amazon’s programs, so the story is exclusive to Kindle for the next 90 days or so. It’s listed at $.99, but it’s free for Amazon Prime members. You can read the story on an iPad, iPhone or Android with the appropriate app or on your PC with this.
I hope everyone enjoys the story!

]]>A while back I thought it might be a good idea to have a multitude of short stories for readers to go through before deciding if they should invest in a novel (or a new author). The problem is, I rarely write anything short. I thought instead I’ll write one of the many novels floating around in my head and break it down into parts. That way, the reader only has to pay a small fee for a 50 page story and can decide if it’s worth continuing with the rest. Plus, I get another idea out of my head and onto paper.
The first of these book parts comes out April 1 and is called Summoned: Part One, Caught by the Tale. The basic premise is that a clan of goblins summon someone to help with their plight against the dark elves that enslave them. What they wanted was a video game character; what they got was a teenage boy. This may sound similar to a story I’m writing over at Protagonize, called The War Golem. That’s because it is. When I envisioned the story, I had two diverging ideas - one of which would not be suited for young adults if I stayed true to the character. So the official story turned out completely different and aimed at young adults. The War Golem is just for fun. In fact, it’s probably the only time you’ll see me curse regularly in a story.
May 1st is fast approaching, which is the launch day for book two, The Mists of Faeron. We’re working on having a launch party here in Fountain Hills, Arizona, where I’ll be on site to sign books and talk all things Taellus. I won’t be giving away any spoilers for book three, though.
I’ll also be appearing at Leprecon next Friday, April 6, to talk on various panels and sign books. If you’re in town, stop by and say hi. I hope to see you there!
